Purpose
The Citi Foundation, in partnership with Citi Foundation, Mission Investors Exchange, Living Cities, Council on Foundations and the National Development Council, is pleased to offer this exciting and innovative training opportunity for foundations that are making mission investments in community development projects. Community Development Finance Training for Foundations is a series of two rigorous, three-day courses designed to equip foundations with the financial tools and techniques to make mission investments in projects that achieve impactful results in low to moderate-income (LMI) communities. As foundation PRIs are filling an increasingly vital role in projects that benefit LMI populations, it is important for philanthropic lenders to be equipped with community development finance skills. Using case studies based on actual foundation funded projects, the training will explore real estate finance and business credit analysis, conventional and public sector financing tools, deal structuring, and the best methods for filling financing gaps with foundation investments.
